About the Location:
The images are captured in a remote desert near Death Valley, California, the hottest place in North America. When the air temperature hits 120°F the ground temperature bakes near 200°F. The noon silence is thick. Only insects, lizards and scorpions survive the heat. People die without shade. Violent late afternoon dust storms settle at sunset. Twilight unveils a blanket of stars as bats, snakes, rabbits, coyotes, and wild burrows emerge to hunt and feed.
Related Scriptures Included with this Art:
John 15:9-12 - (Jesus speaking) "As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Now remain in my love. If you obey my commands, you will remain in my love, just as I have obeyed my Father's commands and remain in his love. I have told you this so that my joy may be in you and that your joy may be complete. My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you."
John 3:16-21 - (Jesus speaking) "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because he has not believed in the name of God's one and only Son. This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but men loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil. Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that his deeds will be exposed. But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what he has done has been done through God."
